NDIS funding for home organisation and decluttering — what you need to know

The short answer: it depends on your plan, your goals, and how your supports are managed. This guide explains the landscape so you can have an informed conversation with your support coordinator or planner.

The relevant support categories

NDIS funding for support with home organisation and decluttering typically falls under one of two categories:

Core Supports — Assistance with Daily Life (01) This covers support with daily living tasks a participant can’t do independently. If clutter or home organisation is directly affecting your ability to live safely and independently in your home, this category may apply.

Capacity Building — Improved Daily Living (07) This covers supports that build your capacity to do things more independently. If sessions with a support person help you develop skills and strategies for managing your home environment — not just do it for you — this category is often more appropriate.

Body doubling sessions, where Gulley’s presence enables you to do work that you genuinely cannot initiate or sustain alone, often fit well under Capacity Building.

How to find out if your plan covers this

  1. Talk to your support coordinator — they can assess your plan goals and current funding against what’s available
  2. Review your plan goals — if independent living, daily functioning, or home management appear as goals, supports in those areas are easier to justify
  3. Ask your planner at your next review if home organisation support can be included

Plan management matters

Clutterbusters is not currently a registered NDIS provider, which affects who can access services:

What Gulley can provide

For NDIS participants, Gulley can provide service agreements and invoices in the format your plan manager requires, and can describe services in language aligned with your plan goals if that’s helpful.
